I screenshot Sims, their surroundings, or environment because if they look interesting, or do things that seems noteworthy to me to document for posterity, I could. Then in the future, if I look back at it, I can think 'oh I remember where this took place, what a funny/unusual/interesting/[insert descriptive feeling] thing'.

In regards to this Superman body mesh that I've been posting, some of the reason is to examine the way the body mesh moves around. I created this Superman uniform for The Sims 2, and so making screenshots of this modded Sim helps me to see if there are flaws in its function. If there were flaws that I felt needed to be fixed, I could reference it when using MilkShape 3D, and re-export it into SimPE, and test it out again in the game.

As an example, I get to see how much clipping occurs when parts of the mesh bend around, twist and turn (e.g. like with the joint between the shoulder blades and armpits). I can then choose to make adjustments until the clipping is minimized. Or not bother tinkering with it and move on to other areas of the creation (e.g. the knee cap area).

There may be times that I can't get rid of clipping. With Superman's body type compared with ordinary Sims in the game, there's going to be clipping, whether it's on the body itself, or through objects. The joints assigned within the body mesh are not adjustable, nor can more joints be added. So I'm bound by what the game provides.

One of the things I don't want is to have this Superman body mesh look overly exaggerated with muscle mass, or else the Sim would be too unbelievable compared with other Sims, and very likely would have problems with interacting with objects.

Another reason I do screenshots of this modded Sim is because I'm impressed with myself for the details of the clothing and for surpassing the challenge of making it sharp. In the game, there's a compression issue that resizes a clothing texture to 1024 x 1024 pixels. It comes out blurry when zoomed in. So I discovered a way to circumvent that issue, documented my findings, and applied it to my creation here.

I also like Superman the superhero. So there may be more images of him as a Sim verses ordinary Sims.
